What does Kootenay Employment Services do?
With offices in Creston, Cranbrook, Fernie and Invermere, we administer multiple employment contracts, funded by various stakeholders including provincial and federal sources. These programs are designed to assist local community members to find meaningful and sustainable employment.
We have staff who work directly with clients across these programs, support staff (including finance, IT, HR, marketing and admin), supervisors and a management team.
Who we look for
When we are hiring we look for ambitious, community oriented, honest and motivated team players. Strong communication and computer literacy are required in all our positions, and we love innovative and solution oriented people.
A well-developed understanding of the local and regional employer community and a good understanding of the local labour market is an asset, and all team members are expected to adhere to privacy and security regulations and protocols.
Due to working with vulnerable populations, KES also requires a clean criminal record check and three work related references.
Rural Community Immigration Pilot
Kootenay Employment Services has been designated to participate in the West Kootenay RCIP program. Please note that this designation does not include positions in the East Kootenay communities - Cranbrook, Fernie, Invermere, and is limited to job opportunities in Creston.
