Employment Coach

At Kootenay Employment Services, we are dedicated to helping clients find sustainable employment. One focus of ours is to provide Job Search Support Services for individuals re-entering the workforce after being injured at work.
We are looking for a skilled Employment Coach to join our team and empower individuals by providing comprehensive job coaching and reintegration strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare quality cover letters & resumes targeting the client’s occupational goal.
Deliver 1-1 job search skills coaching sessions to assess client skills, strengths, and interests. Deliver job search workshops on topics such as networking, interview prep, and employer contacts to prepare client for independent job search.
Support, motivate, guide, and engage client to actively job search. Provide tailored advice and strategies to address clients’ unique needs and challenges related to their injuries.
Market client directly to employers to develop job opportunities and facilitate placements.
Document client progress and write reports detailing client’s job search efforts and your job development activities.
Connect client with resources to increase employability.
Stay informed and provide guidance on job market trends and opportunities that may be suitable for injured workers.
Qualifications:
Experience: Due to the nature of this contract, a minimum 2 years of experience in resume preparation, job search skills, employment coaching, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field is essential. Experience working with injured workers or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Career Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field or a relevant professional designation is preferred. This includes Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP), Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP), Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor/Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor (CRC/CCRC), and Canadian Certified Vocational Evaluator (CCVE) Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) through the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada
